Last night we ate at Aldars for the 4th or 5th time. We were seated promptly (although to be fair, we did have to wait sometimes in the past), the food was uniformly excellent, and the service was outstanding! The owner even stopped by the table to make sure everything was good. The only reason I did not give a 5th star was that it sometimes got noisy and difficult to hear. I recommend it to anyone who likes Mediterranean food, and even for the few dishes that are not.

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner last night. The food was good and the staff was friendly. We tried the Awarma (hummus topped with minced meat) for an appetizer which was really good. I got a salmon dish and my boyfriend tried the Roz Bi Djaj. Both were very tasty. While I really enjoyed my meal the entrees were definitely over priced. Next visit I'll probably just get a couple small plates.

Not Kid Friendly or Adult friendly We have dined at Aldar for the past few months (about once a week) with our 17 month old with no problem and have appreciated their accommodating quite a few food allergies. This evening, dining with both sets of grandparents, the owner came over to our table and asked us to quiet down our daughter (who was vocal over her excitement for some sesame street valentines day gifts). She was not throwing any temper tantrums and just being vocal as most children her age are. When I spoke to the owner after our meal, he was extremely dismissive claiming his restaurant is kid friendly and if I chose not to return that is "on me," including walking away from our conversation. As a result of our poor treatment not only won't we be going back to Aldar but neither will the grandparents who all live in the neighborhood.

Not too exciting but their cold appetizers are quite good and the portions are large. Warm appetizers are not as good. The atmosphere is acceptable. Fairly quiet. Prices are good. Service is fine as well overall it is just not that exciting and some entrees are better than others.

I'm baffled by the reviews praising the food and panning the service. They are both bad, but definitely the food was worse. It literally is no better than poor diner food. We had: - calamari -- grilled rings of unbreaded and unseasoned calamari served on a bed of undressed spring mix with a lemon wedge on the side. The predominant flavor of this dish was bitterness (from the grill marks). - avocado salad - two halves of avocado sliced and laid face down on the plate with two slices of tomato topped with fresh mozzarella the whole thing dressed with dijon mustard. The avocado wasn't ripe and the mozzarella was surprisingly tasteless. - grilled pita bread bowl - half of the pitas were stale and definitely came out of a bag. Tasted very much like supermarket pita. - turkey burger - a very dense and very large pattie of turkey meat served on a brioche type roll. - chicken kebab - grilled chicken lacking seasoning or any discernible marination served on top of semi-buttery rice and some sauteed carrots and steamed broccoli. Some pieces of chicken were tender, but overall the dish lacked flavor. Still, this was the best dish of the night. How can a place like this be so prosperous? It was packed today (Wednesday)! You'd have to pay me to eat here again. It wasn't the worst meal I've ever had -- I don't have food poisoning and the food was all edible -- but it was definitely lacking in anything resembling actual flavor or salt or savoriness.

Staple of main life cuisine. Food does not get better than this. Have been going here for as long as I can remember. Isaac, the chef, crafts meal after meal of high quality Mediterranean cuisine. The kibbie appetizer and entree are two of my favorites. Fantastic Chicken and Steak Kebabs. Don't be scared to talk to Walid--the bar tender.

If I were reviewing only the food, I'd give Aldar's five stars. They have very good quality choices and a nice wine selection. The service, unfortunately, is routinely bad. It's almost as if they are purposefully employing careless wait staff. I go to Aldar's ever so often because I love the food, and when I go I brace myself for some really lousy service...and I am rarely disappointed on either count.

Great food and service last night! Generous mazza platter with tasty hummus, babaganoush and tabbouleh salad. Main courses were chicken kabobs and sirloin keftahs, All the food was exceptionally fresh and tasty. The servers could not have been more accommodating or friendly.

I had previously given this place a bad review because of bad service. But all is forgiven. I have been here recently a couple of times and the service was much better.

I normally have a good experience at this restaurant. But, tonight I went there with my friends for my friends birthday dinner. We had a waitress with extremely disrespectful to us. When we ordered our food? She looked dumbfounded by orders, even though all we did was order chicken wings. we were brought the wrong food several times... After finally receiving our food we asked for the check. Every time the waitress came over, she seemed to have a very rude attitude and always seemed exasperated to be called over. Who is a mere on the restaurant ball, so every time she was leaving our table and walking into the kitchen, I could see her rolling her eyes as she left my table. We received the check, all of our orders were mixed up because we had the check split. When we called her over nicely and asked her to correct her mistake, she said, "Are you serious? It's only a few dollars difference... Like...honestly." We all looked at each other, dumbfounded at how rude she was being. My friend should not have to pay for my more expensive dinner. We ended up telling her that it was fine, but we certainly didn't leave her tip. Again, I should left the table, I could see her laughing as she entered the kitchen. Later I saw her talking to other employees and pointing at us and laughing. Our waitress should have apologize for my mistake, and then fixed it. She did not need to give us attitude and suggest that we were wrong.

Attractive place. Interesting sounding dishes on menu. Food and service not so good. I'm sure some dishes are good, and likely some of the wait staff may be good. We ordered "Sauteed muscle meat over bens on lemon garlic and olive oil dressing". We were served fried muscles over (drained into) baby spinach. Maybe the cook was out sick.

If you like a little food with your salt, this is the place for you. Otherwise stay away. Food is in many cases inedible, poorly presented, and the only flavor that comes through is the salt. But, if you want more bread, be prepared to pay $2.99, which they warn you about on three spots on the menu. They also suggest that if you pay in credit card, tip in cash. Ha!

Love mediteranean food and if you are looking for a great and delicious meal this is the place to eat at. Perfect for casual business meetings, night out with the girls, date night, etc. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The owners are always around to greet the guests and it's just a nice restaurant to eat.
